Bessa Side Grip

Does anyone know whether a Bessa side grip fits the RD1 body?

I have one for my R2 - it doesn't fit the R-D1.

I've got a grip from Tom Abrahamsson as described in the thread. The handgrip part is a hard plastic, the base metal. I covered the grip on mine with soft leather, and it's fantastic, I never take it off. Makes holding the camera a dream.

I too have a modified Nikon grip. Works well.
