Bessa

It is my understanding that the Bessa (s) have two shutters. The front one prevents light leaks, because the rear one(REAL shutter) is adapted from an SLR design, where the SLR mirror kept too much light from hitting the shutter.

But the front extra shutter takes up extra space , which means that some extra short lenses (some Russian designs) crunch the shutter. Not good.

Investigate each lens carefully.

I just test one Jupiter 8 50mm f 2. Seems it is work very good on Bessa R. This russian lens haven't problem with sarph on infinite and the price was only 3$.
