Best AF P&S film camera?

I have the Hexar AF and though I like it I don't love it - some very good images but a bit too hefty and the top shutter speed of 1/250 is a bit limiting. I had a Minilux and loved it but it developed the dreaded E02 error message and that was that. So now I use a Leica CM - I'm a big fan of it. Some of the images put my DSLR in the shade.

I'm fortunate (greedy) enough to have Hexar Silver, Oly Mju (Epic), Contax T2 and all are, as others have said, super performers. One other camera I have is the tiny 'sardine can' camera, the Fujifilm DL Supermini, also known as the Tiara. See camera here

Has a fixed AF 28mm Fujinon lens and manual focus option though no choice of aperture like the GR-1 but gives very good results and I think was the only camera to compete with the GR-1.

My favourites:
The Nikon TW2AF because of its 35 and 70mm lens; the Konica AF3, that has AF, is silent and manual advanced and the mju-II.

I really like my MJU II its soo small that I am able to carry it wherevere I go/ It's cheap it's funny its just MJU:)

I have had many of them. this is my hit parade:
1 contax t3
2 contax t2
3 leica cm (no zoom)
4 ricoh gr1v
5 leica minilux (no zoom)
6 yashica t4 super
7 oly stylus epic
8 rollei 35 se

the hexar AF is also great but I don't classify it as a P&S due to the external dimensions. otherwise I would rate it between contax t2 and leica cm

my 2 cents

The Ricoh GR1 remains my favorite P&S film camera. Wonderful lens.

Yes i second this in fact the GDR2 has taken over its slot so i'll be selling my GR1s (with hood and orange filter) at some point.

I had the Leica Minlux but it never delivered as well as the GR1s when i was making prints from the negs. YMMV.

Minolta TC-1. I've had a Contact T2 and thought it was great, just not at the TC-1's level. I've also got a Ricoh GR1v and boy does that take nice photo's, just not as good as the TC-1's.

I'm still looking for that TC-1 beater. I have just acquired a camera that might just beat it. Not put a roll of film through it yet but it has the best specs I've ever seen on a p&s. It's got Aperture priority, or shutter priority, or auto everything. It's lens has aperture's starting at f2.8 going to f22. The shutter goes from 16 seconds to 1/8000 of a second! Wowsers!!! It's all aluminum chassis finished in titanium. It has a zoom from 28mm to 60mm. It also has a memory function which allows you to call back any shot you've taken within the last 3 rolls of 36 exposures. Meaning you can call up a shot and it will provide the shutter speed and aperture you took the shot at! Digital capability before the digital evolution! It's the Rollei QZ35w(there is also the Rollei QZ35T with 38-90mm lens). I can't wait to put a film through this beast. And it is a beast. It's the size of a Leica M8 and weighs about two pounds. But what a camera!!!

One for the MF P&S here.
The Fuji GA645 has manual modes and will run as a full P&S.
Big, noisy and great pictures.

When I need something pocket sized, the MJU fits well. I had a few years with a GR1v on slides, that was good, but 28mm seems a little wide for my B&W work. 35mm suits it well.
