Hoping for some advice on a good complimentary M-mount 35mm lens to the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 from the S3 Limited kit. I know some forum members use this lens on Leica M cameras as a substitute (or probably an addition) to the 50 Summilux.

If I were to use this lens adapted on an analog M camera, what 35mm lens would you pair it with for a similar look? I'm thinking particularly in terms of contrast, sharpness, and distortion on color negative film, both wide open in low light and stopped down in daylight.

-Summicron 35/2 ASPH
-Summilux 35/1.4 ASPH/FLE (probably can't afford either of these, but I feel like they are the best choice)
-C-Biogon 35/2.8 (likely too slow for my project)
-Biogon 35/2
-CV Ultron 35/2
-UC-Hexanon 35/2

Or something else?

If you have to get an adapter for your Millenium, why not a 35/2.5 Nikkor?

Well I have (and love) the Nikkor 35/2.5 in S-mount, but it's not very suited for color. Compared to the Millennium Nikkor, the 35/2.5 has noticeably less contrast, sharpness, and overall just looks a little flatter/duller with saturation. On b&w the 35/2.5 really shines whereas the Millennium Nikkor is even a bit too contrasty for my taste. These are my observations at least.

Also, the adapter I am most interested in would be for internal S-mount (50mm) lenses only. And as much as I like the Nikkor 35/2.5, there are so many more lenses to choose from with the M-mount. Otherwise I'll just keep using my Nikon S3, which I'll be doing anyway. Hope that makes some sense.

What is the point of adding quirky to focus lens on original cameras to camera where 50mm lens is most widest choose? 🙂

For less quirkiness you could have CV 50 1.5 and CV 35 1.5 in VM. Those are most nicest character lenses (renders fine, sharp, yet, smooth) I ever seen on film.

Using the Nikon S mount Millenium Nikkor 50 1.4 with a recent M Amedeo adapter allows to focus the Leica way with RF coupling down to the minimum focusing distance of 0,60m.

Nothing quirky and quite affordable compared to a 50 Summilux asph.

I'd go for the UC Hexanon 35/2 or the silver L Hexanon 35/2 if you're ok with their minimum focussing distance of 0,90m.

Summilux 50 ASPH has focus tab and easy to read, short focus distance.
Anything on S to M adapter is inferior to these focus aids.

I prefer the rendering of the Millenium Nikkor 50 1.4 compared to the rendering of the 50 summilux asph and hope the OP will find the 35mm LTM/M mount lens he's seeking !

OK makes sense. It's not a modern lens of course, like the Millenium.

The Amedeo adapter for 50mm internal mount lenses is fantastic, if that helps. 🙂

My vote is the 35/1.4 Zeiss.

The best compliment might be "that's some nice glass you've got there."

The best complement? I am not the one to ask.
