Best lens on Fed 2

I just got my first Fed 2 with Industar 26, from the bay.I have Jupiters 8,9,11,12 and Industars 22,61, what will be the best lens for everyday street photography ?
I am thinking Jupiter 12, or 8, or the collapsable Industar 22, you thoughts on this will be appretiated.

I like the Industar 61 for that extra bit of speed... but then... collapsible I22 is beautiful! I want to get one of those 🙂

I have to say though, the Canon 50mm f/1.8 is rather nice (unless you dislike infinity locks)

Probably the J12, even w/out an external finder. A collapsible lens like the I22 is easier to carry but will need to be extended for every use.

Have fun! Street shooting can be rewarding & healthy (it usually involves much walking). 😉

I would hesitate between I-61 L/D and J-8// I-22 is beautiful but as previously said, you've got to get it out each time to use it

I can only comment on the I-26 which came with the camera. Great lens! Sharp and contrastly.

The J-9 and J-11 might be a bit long but I would start with something close to what you have used(focal length) before and then adjust from there as you need to. As far as the specific lenses you have--I own J-8, J-12, Industar 22, L/D 61 and like the look I get from all of them. The Industar 22 is slower than the others and, if it's the collapsable version, slightly slower to get ready. The FED 2 I owned came with an Industar 26 lens that I also liked.
My most used lens, lately, is the 35mm J-12. After that one I am comfortable with any of the 50mm lenses, though each has their + and - .
I like the click stops for the aperture on the I-61. I like the f2-f22 fange on the J-8.
I like the compactness of the I-22. I haven't got a lens hood yet for the I-22 so I have to be abit more thoughtful where I point it(to keep flare to a minimum). All the others I use the same slip-on plastic hood for so flare is not so much of a worry with those. That hood vignettes slightly on my J-12 but it hasn't been a major problem so far as I tend to frame loosely and then crop the print after.

Question: Stopped down to, say, f/4, does any of these lenses - J8, I-22, I-26. I-50 or I-61 L/D - stand out as superior to the others?

One thing I always notice is the excellent bokeh I see in J8 images when used in the f/4-5.6 range.

I must be doing something wrong. I've never had good results with my J-12.

I also love my J-12, and both the I-61 and J-8 are great lenses - but with very different footprints: the I-61 is perfect for gritty, high-contrast, sharp slice-of-life pics, the J-8 is better for pleasing, lower contrast, smooth, beautiful pics.

I would have to go with the J-8 as overall best to use. The I-22 is great but you have to pull the filter on and off too many times to changethe f stop.

For the way I work with film I have to vote for the J-12, with the I-61 a close second followed by the J-8.

J-12 for street shooting and J-9 when you see a nice & willing candid of the opposite sex, the I-22 may become a nuisance, but if you don't use filters...

For street work the J12 would be good, I will guarantee that if you use the collapsible 50 , at some point in the heat of the moment in street photography you will forget to extend it!!

For street-shooting...35 mm J12 is the one for me...good depth of field..try for F8..400 speed film..set lens to hyperfocal distance and forget the ragefinder..just blast away!..
you can get real sneaky and hold it waistlevel..as if checking the controls..snigger..snigger!
