Is there any advantage for the M8 of the older model (such as lower contrast), or should I return it for the refund as the seller suggests? I have a Summicron already and don't know how much I'll miss the extra stop.
Thanks,
Matt
Uhh? Isn't the ASPH far more expensive? If you paid for an ASPH and got the pre-ASPH, I'd start getting pissed off for being ripped off.

Yes, of course I paid too much for the non-ASPH. The question is, should I return it for the full refund and try to get an ASPH, or should I ask for a refund of the price difference and keep this lens. I believe the dealer (KEH) is reputable and made an error they are eager to correct.

I would go for the asph ( just got mine yesterday).
I think that besides price it only has advantages compared to the pre-asph version

Thanks for the reply. I'm having enough "fun" learning to focus the 'cron at f2. I can wait on the 'lux
BTW, played with an M8 in NY today. I have nothing to add to the reports others have made, but I'm sure glad it's on order. Oh yes: the rep said all current orders should be filled by end of December. And I have a mousepad in the shape of a big red dot. Guess that and film scanning will have to keep me for a bit.
