Dear All,

A few hours ago I started a thread about upgrading old Macs to keep the Coolscan 5000 happy.

It has since occurred to me since that instead of upgrading, I should seek a Powerbook or early MBP solution.

I can't sit at a desk for hours so a laptop is the best way for me to go.

What is the optimum laptop (notebook) set-up for the Coolscan 5000... keep in mind the OS, the processing speed, the RAM, the HD, USB 2, good clear matte 14-15inch screen.

Should I be looking for a late generation Powerbook or an early MBP?

In other words, what makes the Coolscan 5000 really happy... no crashing.

Let me know and I'll hunt down such a machine. Perhaps you have this ideal laptop for sale.

Thank you all for your forebearance.

John

careful with Leopard. Nikonscan is not supported on Leopard. I use an older Imac Intel and Powerbook Intel with my LS9000 without issue, even running Leopard.
