If the camera was dropped, that always changes the ability to diagnose a problem and probably is best handled by the manufacturer.

Does anyone know if there's a solution to this problem that can be applied in the field? I'm on a trip in the Caribbean and have my xpan has jammed with exactly these symptoms and the error codes in the pictures above.
Any kind of hard reset that can be done?

never mind - it was an easy fix that I should have tried before posting.
for the record - in my case just doing the auto rewind mid roll and popping in a new roll of film seemed to be sufficient to reset the error code. I don't think it's relevant, but the new film I popped in was DX coded while the one I took out was not DX coded. Again, I don't think that's relevant. I will pop in another roll of Efke 25 (non-DX coded) later today.
