Ok! new here. What is the highest SD size that is recomended for the RD-1 and one more question what do you mean by QA problems
Ok! I lied one more right now I have enough to get the RD-1 and one lens my budget is the RD-1 and about $500 for a lens I know that there are hundreds of lenses to choose from ..... the two that I have been looking at are the 28/1.9 ASPH ULTRON and the 35/2.5 Pancake II M MOUNT
I would love to hear your comments

I didn't get the 28mm because, with my glasses I can't see the 28mm framelines. I do think the 35 2.5 is a wonderful lens though. I started with that and the Nokton 50mm, and for me that made a great combination. However, I used to use 40mm on my 35mm film camera quite a bit, and I kind of miss that angle of view.
One other thing about the 35/2.5; the camera has a good feel when it's on. The Nokton is great, but a bit large. I have never handled the 28/1.9, so I don't know how it compares.

I've gone up to 2gb with no problems. Previous and latest firmware. QC problems exist, I'd try to get a warrantied camera, but seems like they are out of stock here from USA authorized dealers.

Lynn,
You might also want to consider the 40mm f/1.4 Nokton - an excellent fast lens and pretty good for general purpose use. Its also very compact, particularly without the optional hood, Makes sense as a starter lens because you could then go on and by one of the super-wides (either the 12 or 15 Super-heliar) and then something in the mid-20s - either the 21 or 25...)
As far as QC/QA goes the summary of faults experienced is:
1. Rangefinder alignment
2. Focus calibration
3 Blocked shutter (i.e. either doesn't release or doesn't cock)
Features and quirks are;
Some streaking/blooming in under-exposed scenes with intense highlights
Analog dials not functioning/sticking
I am sure there are others I've forgotten. I think the moral is buy new and from a reputable/local dealer...
