I'd pull a gun too if I was a cop & stopped a nut running 100 mph on a motorcycle down I-95 & doing wheelies.
MOF it was on I-95 in Fayetteville N.C. where two state troopers were gunned down simply for stopping a speeder. Too bad they didn't draw their weapons first!

If I saw someone w/o any sort of police identification pull a gun on me I'd shoot him. If I didn't have a gun I would have run him over w/ the bike and taken my chances. How would you know it was a cop? Because he said he was a cop? Big deal. Pull a gun, suffer the consequences.

These whole death or glory clips that appear on youtube of people doing crazy stunts to get fifteen minutes of fame on the internet annoy the hell out of me ... if this clown had lost control of the bike and cartwheeled into an oncoming vehicle and killed someone he'd be up on manslaughter charges!

As for the cop ... he's been watching way too much television!

There have a been a fairly large number of arrests in MD where police have charged the driver with video taping the arrest after being asked to stop. The police are stretching the law and a number of the cases are headed to the MD Supreme court.

Given the number of law enforcement shot in traffic stops there is nothing wrong with un-holstering his weapon. Failing to identify himself as a police officer, with shield displayed, is a big no-no.

Guy was lucky. The Ottawa Hills Police (rich Toledo, OH suburb) pulled a motorcyclist over and before the guy could get off the bike was shot and paralyzed from the waist down. All captured on the police car video. Time from the car stopping and shot being fired was 3 seconds.

Also video cameras on MC helmets are pretty common. The prosecutor claiming he was trying to entice the police is pure BS. And I used to drive the I-95 corridor a lot on my bike from NJ to DC. In my estimation 75% of the drivers are insane. Average speed must be 90 mph, many people exceed 100 mph, at least until there is a pile up and everything comes to a stop.

Unfortunately also is that it is not a bit unusually to see a half dozen squids (pocket rocker riders with no gear) splitting lanes and doing wheelies (along with other circus acts).

I hope the MD Supreme court wins in favor of the public's right to film cops out on the street. I think they should be accountable for their actions. The cop should of had his badge around his neck where he was immediately identified as a police officer, but then again the biker was stupid for putting himself in such a spot!

I'm trying to figure out why the gun needed to be drawn in the first place. Speeding and reckless driving is very dangerous but not enough to justify shooting another human. Then again I live in a pretty safe suburb and not America.

Sorry, but that's retarded logic. A guy was shot outside a convenience store near here the other day. Should I now carry a gun and pull it out whenever I see someone else on the street? Note that I live in a metropolitan area with a rather low crime rate. That gun would be out constantly.

**** happens. Just not very often. Just because one situation resulted in tragedy once does not imply that every similar situation carries the same risk.

And 100 mph on a freeway on a motorcycle is retarded but not the same threat to public safety as if it was in a car. The cop in question was driving an unmarked car and had no uniform. If that cop pulled in front of my car and jumped out with a gun like he did in the video, I'd run his ass down like criminal he was. There's a reason cops have uniforms - it's so we know who they are and can hold them accountable for their actions.

I live in America in a safe suburb, so I am unsure how to understand your logic. I also drive to some pretty bad parts of the state for a job and have yet to be attacked or any of that.

The cop pulling his gun , hopping out of an unmarked car with no badge is insane. I'd have run him over, how the hell would I know he's a cop? Because he said so? Fault me if you will , but I wont pull over for one of those unmarked jobs either unless I can be in a public area surrounded by people.

I agree with beemermark , 95 is full of insane drivers going full bore in family sedans and SUV's a bike on 95 is a ballsy move to start. I see the same crap from guys wearing little more than a t-shirt ,jeans, and a brainbucket doing stupid stunts on bikes all the time. This is no more right than a plain clothes cop pulling a gun on an unarmed citizen. I think the guy should be ticketed, no question. The cops actions should be questioned though.
