guys, the main thing is: don't fall down. not because it will hurt your camera (it might, but you can always get another), but because it might hurt you. my camera is normally in a bag slung over my shoulder unless I'm stopped. occasionally, I'm daring enough to pedal with my M8 dangling around my neck. I wouldn't recommend this as your standard routine. the bag (I use a crumpler) works best when you're moving. best to travel light. I generally bring one body, one lens, a roll of film or a spare battery (M2 or M8) and a meter if I need one. I'm a lot more fragile than my gear. If something is going to damage my equipment, then chances are I'm at risk. Past the age of 50 I've decided that I'd like to take better care of this old body than I did for the first 50 years; I try to avoid broken bones and face plants at 40mph. That said, it's a rare ride when I don't bring an M or a Barnack along. Although I sometimes shoot roadkill when out on a ride, I have no interest in becoming roadkill myself. so, folks, BE SAFE.
