Hello,
I have just got an uncoated wartime Biogon, but in Contax mount.
I would put it on one of my LTM bodies to make comparisons with my other Biogon and Jup 12 which are LTM and coated.
The converters I know (Amedeo, Kipon, Stewartry...) only work on 50mm and 85mm. Not on 35mm. But is it a question of coupling with the rangefinder or a technical problem? Are there other converters which fit the 3,5cm Biogon?
If it is impossible, I will try it on a Jena Contax.
Thanks! Jacques.

I think you'll find the Armedeo also makes a WA adapter (no RF coupling)

OK. Thanks, Scrambler.
I didn't know that Amadeo had WA converters. The lack of coupling for the rangefinder is not really a problem with the depth of field...
So, to compare my different Biogons and Jup 12, I must use my M2. With an Amadeo converter for the Contax mount, and LTM/M rings for the screw mounts.
But really, it seems there is no direct converter Biogon bayonet/LTM body. Why?
Jacques.

I know Amedeo once made Contax & Nikon RF to LTM adapters (I own several) & he probably still makes them. My understanding is that they're just harder to make, so he concentrates on the M mount adapters. Just shoot him an email.

IIRC, there was very little clearance and he was concerned that the LTM mounts would not be strong enough. Also the WA mount is offset downwards slightly (which will affect comparisons) which is not possible in LTM.

Good news!
Amedeo will make a special Biogon Contax mount/LTM adapter for me.
I will tell more when I receive it.

Can I add to the question: I have a post war Biogon 35 which has a better internal clearance will that work on the standard focussing Amadeo mount

I received the ring some time ago. Amedeo did a perfect job: it was not easy, because of the limited clearance. The hole is excentric and it makes a curious impression when screwing it on the body. It finds its perfect position at the end of the screwing.
Then, the lens is put, like on any Contax body.
I have tried it with a film. Perfect results. But you don't have the rangefinder coupling. It's not really a problem with a wide angle.
Amitiés. Jacques.
