Keep both lenses . They are faraway different lenses and start studying them. I think you have no idea on difference of Leitz to Zeiss and You have no idea what can each lenses can do and cant do. If you have no capability to select one , buy classic painting catalogs and study Da Vinci , Rembrandt , Dürer and later. You will immediately gain experience and start to look images and lenses with a different eye.
Summaron is excellent and in my belief it looks more professional. Zeiss render like amateur painter matching with Sum family.

I'm really confused. If you have both lenses, then why does someone else need to tell you what to do? You have the lenses. Stop posting and go out and shoot with them and make up your own mind. I can understand asking for help when you don't own the lenses. If you can't tell the difference and you want to sell one, then sell the one that nets the most money. On the other hand, I can tell you what to do and then you can later regret that your friend has the lens that you prefer.
You gotten wise suggestions, I think, to keep both... certainly until you've had some experience with both. I like both the Summaron and the Biogon. And I rather like the bayonet vented hood for the Biogon, and use a similar vented Leica clip-on hood for the Summaron.

You say - it's a good friend, so let him borrow your Summaron and see if he likes it. At the same time - see if you miss it. It sounds like you prefer Biogon anyway. And if he doesnt like it - there are many other 35 mm lenses out there.
That's the plan right there. Maybe even lend *both* lenses to your friend, one at a time, and see which you miss more -- and which one friend likes better, too.
