Birthday Give-Away

Jesse, -- A wonderful offer. I sent you a PM about the OM4TI. Have a very Happy Birthday. -- Martin

Happy birtday Jesse! Real sign of character to commemorate your birthday that way!

I've been wanting to get myself an olympus om4-ti for some time now. I use my olympus om2 and om4 a lot. They are my favorite cameras. The spot metering is fantastic when shooting slide. Rugged little cameras too. Mine survived a fire 5 months back and a motorcycle crash 4 weeks ago. No damage at all but for the slightest scratch. Those two events made sure as hell I wont be able to afford any new camera soon tho. The rest of my inventory and motorcycle weren't as lucky as the OMs...

But it also made me realise a few things:
1) Stuff is just stuff. But i'm emotionaly attached to some of that stuff. Like my guitar, music collection and my Olympus OMs.
2) Even when you find yourself in a real f*cked up place, you'r still able to enjoy whatever good comes your way. And it's the little things that can get the biggest grin to stick on my face.
3) I am immortal. I should have been dead twice now. Not a scratch (just a slight concussion).
4) Life is too short, so any excuse to celebrate it is a good one. I hope you have/had a fantastic birthday, Jesse!

Thanks guys for all the good wishes - really appreciate the friendship among RFF members.

From the response I had I could easily have got rid of half a dozen cameras, but I had only one OM 4Ti to offer!

Now that one has found a new home with a well established RFF member - it sounded to be a good home to me! But then so did others and the choice made wasn't easy. Felt a bit sorry for the guys who missed out.

Nevertheless I think I might have been able to bring a smile to a couple of other member's faces. What I thought was a very nice OM1 body has gone off to Denmark where a member will experience OMs for the first time. And an OM2 body has gone to a USA member who has arranged to pick it up in UK when he visits in a couple of months.

So three members have ended up with something that I hope they will use and enjoy over the years.
