i bought a canon 35/2.
it ships out tomorrow and should be here by the time the snow melts. lol

no pics but sounds like it's in nice shape, comes with a return provision.

i am so looking forward to using it.

Yeah, but I really do like the P. Actually, before I was confident that I knew enough to buy used equipment I had a crush on the P. It is starting to creep back. All things in time, and for a good price.

Congrats Ralph, it's always good to see the light.

Anc congrats Joe !! Thanks also for not throwing the hot potato to me, I'd have a hard time letting this one pass but knowing that I won't sell my CV 35/2.5 :p You just saved me 300 bucks plus shipping.

Now gotta see the pics, I've read a lot about the lens but not too many photo examples...

I think this lens looks great. Very solidly made and very ergonomic in my eyes. That focusing ring looks like a snap to get a hold of and use. I wonder how stubby it is?

Now what do you do with the 35mm f2.8???

Also, did you ever find a camera for your friend? The Oly 35rc would be a great choice for them.

she has become undecided now.
thinks maybe she would like one in the future.

as for the 35/2.8, i'm not sure.
i like the feel of the lens, it's size etc. and especially the lens hood;)

35 is my preferred focal length so maybe i'll be like rover & the 50s and start a 35 collection.

actually, i have that jupiter 35 coming, hhmmm...i sense a new photo gear purpose.

i hope the 35/2 is all that i expect it to be. with the acknowledement that 35 is my fav i thought it made sense to have a recognized quality lens in that fl.

the lens is in the mail!!

4 to 6 days delivery promised but more like 4 to 6 weeks with our blasted postal service.

Really! Did you see the L1 with the Nikkor 3.5cm F3.5 that I have up? The combo is probably less than your lens, and it has a selectable 35mm magnification that you can see the whole finder...

i did see that and am so very tempted but i spent my last 300 bucks on that 35/2 lens.
i need to start saving again.

besides i have not come to terms about if i am a collector or not.

so far i use all the canon gear, granted i have preferences but it all gets to go out & play.

the russian stuff has quickly lost it's allure and i only ever dry fire the bessa, which pains me cause it really is a nice camera with great lenses.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I pretty much have it narrowed down to the Canon 7, Vt, SP, S3, S2, M3, M2, CL, Konica S2, and F2AS. I take the IIIf out on a nice Summer day where the Elmar shines. I picked up a Pellix to go with the F1; it was $90 with a case, F1.4, perfect beamsplitter, and near mint. They're nice; I like the FL lenses. Almost like the RF lenses in build. Really strange to fire an SLR and NOT have the viewfinder black-out. Have not been using the Retina's much lately.

thanks victor, no pics in the ad.
that seller knows better than not to state filter size.

anyway, i have a hood w/ series vi adapter ( & filters) that i think will work on the lens.
plus i have a 40mm canon yellow on it's way along with a metal screw in cap. (which will likely go into storage)

can't wait for the lens to show.

I know you have a hard time with the Post Office. I bought a couple of OM's from Lars in Denmark a week ago. He mailed them on a Friday I got them the next Friday. How good is that!

Answer have all your stuff delivered via Denmark. (humour)
