Hi folks !
I was tempted by a nice looking J-9 pictured fitted on a FED-3 camera. Lesnes are clean and sellers offered good communication. I thought my Zorki's would be glad to have a new companion...
But alas, when the lens landed home, it appeared to be an Zenith SLR version of the J-9. No infinity foccusing, and no range finder coupling (the Fstop ring is also strange as it allows to open the blades wide and return them to the previous value without changing this value).
So my question : Do I have another choice than to return it and ask for my money back ?
TIA !

"There's always the other option! You could get a 39mm mount Zenith to use the lens on"
Not an option, my wife will kill me. A Zenith with a J-9 is a weapon of mass destruction...

Sounds like a pre-set diaphragm - you can set the f-stop you want, then when framing through the lens you can open it up so it's bright enough and quickly stop it down again to shoot.

As it was fitted to the FED3, must be m39. Sounds very much like the zenit m39, just what ! am looking for! (it's a long story.....) Have a swap in mind, sent pm to Georges.

Yes, it's the M39 chrome version, made in 1965. Lens is in quite good shape (the varnish finish on the chrome has lifted some how, but quite nice).
I'm discussing with the seller about returning it, it seems to be willing to pay for it's mistake.
I'll keep you posted.
