BJP gets it wrong ! Vöigtlander

It looks like BJP's spell checker has transformed every instance of Voigtländer into Vöigtlander.

As well as Jonathan Eastland's review of the Nokton 50 f/1.1 on pages 28,29 of this weeks issue, Voigtländer is also miss-spelt on the front cover.

Good grief! I read the review, and didn't even notice. Then again, I tend to ignore everything in the BJP's proof-reading (or prood-trrading, as I initially mistyped...) It's certainly not their strongest point.

I'm well 'appy with the AP 125th anniversary issue, though...

Well, I was worried for a Minute.

I just checked my Prominent, lenses, and boxes for lenses.

BJP spelling checker did not get them!
 
John, yeah, I know. But lots of people don't, and being inaccurate can add confusion regarding things like DOF, perspective, etc. When people are writing technical stuff, it would be nice to have accuracy. I suppose I am asking too much, eh? 😉
 
I enjoy spotting BJP's typos as they seem to convey that the magazine is squeezing in as much as possible with everyone working hard right up until the deadlines - and maybe beyond! The typos create a rawness which is 'human' in a friendly way as if the magazine is doing its best for its readers but not being too bothered if a few words are mis-spelt . As long as the articles are interesting, informative and worth reading - which they are normally are - a few typos in each issue do not matter. I normally spot one or two in each issue and they make me smile 😀

Wow, that is an interesting take! Maybe you are right, and going nuts about it (as I might) certainly isn't healthy. You must love View Camera magazine, plenty of human rawness there!
 
In fact, the review says quite clearly that the focal length of the Nokton is doubled when used on MTF format..it does not suggest or imply anything else.
