Black and White High Resolution Film

The really nice thing about film: I can try out a bunch of different ones.

My list is Delta and Plus-X and Adox 25. The only concerns about trying a new film is the chemistry. Both Delta and Plus-X will work fine with standard developers, as I understand it. Is there anything I am missing?
 
I'd think for mainstream films, I'd go for TMAX 100, Delta 100 or PanF+. TMAX and Delta are probably easier to work with, give finer grain, and are sharper, but PanF+ is a traditional film and might give you tonality you like more. It's also contrasty which can work against you.

There's a bunch of other ISO 25 speed films, some of which are actually microfilms, etc., which should be pretty fine grained. They also sometimes need special developers or careful handling because they are curly, etc. I think I'd try out the TMAX or Delta first and see if you liked it.

Also look at Fuji Acros.
