Black Canon Finders

Dear forum members, Lately I have been looking as my range of accessory finders and its really a hotch-potch of all different brands and styles so I have decided to standardize a bit down to a couple of brands rather than the half a dozen brands I have now. I quite like the late Black Canon Finders with the chrome front rings for their quality and style and was just wondering what focal lengths these finders were made for? I know there are 2 types, one with automatic parralax correction for VT/VL models and manual lever parralax correction for P and later models. The ones I know of so far are 135mm in both auto and manual lever parralax correction, 85mm auto parralax and 28mm auto paralax do you know or have any others to fill in the gaps? I think the Canon black bright-line finders came in 28mm, 35mm, 85mm, 100mm, and 135mm. The 25mm and 19mm lenses had special dedicated finders.

The black finders were made in both styles in the focal lenghts mentioned above. and 50mm which was not mentioned I have missed getting one on ebay twice.

The P dropped the built in adjustment feature in favor of economy. The 7 didn't even have a built in shoe to mount a finder. The 7, 7s and 7sZ had no real need as they had built in finder frames for 35,50,85/100,135mm lenses. So the Black finders with Parallax adjustment were made for the P and model with the exception of the 28mm which would have been used on the 7 with the accessory shoe and the 7s and 7sZ in their built in shoe.

But the idea that the models after the P used the manually adjusted parallax is in error

But because of the huge numbers of model P's sold the manually adjustable finders which were also being offered to be used on older models as owners bought new lenses for their older models they aren't all that rare and since they are so well made most you find are in very good shape.

I have the 28mm and 35mm focal lenghts in the adjustable version. I'm still looking for the 50mm, 85mm, 100mm, and 135mm ones. I really like to pickup a 50mm if I could find one as I have a 1955 Leica If RD that has NO finder or RF so it needs all the help it can get LOL
