Does anyone know if a black Fed 5 would be original ?
There seem to be quite a few new 5c being advertised - kinda neat as it makes it all come together better ...'specially with the meter ! Just the script to sort out !

There were some factory-black FED 5S. However any camera offered somewhere may well be a repaint job.
What do you mean by "just the script to sort out"?
You seem to have a bad case of gear acquisition syndrome.

I love playing around with my toys ! Usually , I need a pair of each camera ...
GAS is my middle name .
Seriously , though the above comment is accurate , I love using my Kiev 4m with it's built in meter , and would like a smart black Leica thread body with meter .

Getting a pair of them might be a bit more difficult. It may take some hunting down factory originals. Or you buy a couple of FED-5s and repaint them yourself, it's not like they are expensive or something.
The meter in the FED-5 is underwhelming. For a metered LTM body a Bessa R might be a better idea, and while arguably more expensive, they're black, too.

Dee,
I got my Black FED5 from blyatnikov It was listed as "New" and "factory black paint". I've been happy with it and the seller.
Not the best paint job; the bottom edges have almost no paint left, though I have touched 'em up with my trusty Sharpie marker.
I think the script on the front of the camera would be relatively easy to change, or you could find one of the re-painted FED5s that are also re-branded "Leica"
Not the most elegant camera and I do occasionally miss the 1/1000 shutter speed, but it works and I can use all my LTM lenses on it.

I doubt whether any black Feds are original. None are mentioned in Princelle.Dee,

I think you're correct about that.I doubt whether any black Feds are original. None are mentioned in Princelle.
But it still looks pretty and works well. OK, pretty-er.
