Black Jupiter-8 aperture ring alignment

Hello all,

I'm just getting back into FSU kit after foolishly selling my Kiev 4A. I just bought a Fed 2 which I'm very excited about.

Anyway, I have a black Jupiter-8 which works fine, but the aperture ring is misaligned a few mm to the left. This means that at maximum aperture the marker is just to the right of the f/2.0 marker and at minimum aperture the marker is on f/16 rather than f/22.

Would it be a mammoth task to fix? To be honest I don't like how the front element turns when focusing or how loose the aperture ring is, so might swap it for a silver model.

Well you're not gonna believe this, but the aperture numbers are on the optical part while the aperture mark is on the focusing part of the lens.

So simply grip the front end of the lens tightly with one hand and the focusing part with the other, and 'unscrew' the optical part for that few millimeters, and you'll be fine!
