Black or chrome?

I voted and post as the 4th person in this OLD thread on 9-14-2006. I got a black M8 and would have it no other color.

Just purchased the 8.2 and it is the professional color black, too!😱

All my Lux and Cron lenses are black so silver is out of the question!:angel:

My dealer was upset when I ordered a black M8. It hurt his sensibilities. Aww... but my M4 is a chrome classic.

I bought my black M8 (serial 3201xxx) yesterday. Waiting for a lens which is en route from California so I can take my first rangefinder picture since I sold my Epson 2 years ago... 😎

Does anyone know what the ratio of sold black to chrome M8s is? Looking back on the M2-2-4 era when chrome was most common and black was odd we now have a situation where black M2-3-4s command a premium. I wonder if in 30 years chrome M8s will encounter the same fate: a premium because most buyers today chose black.

Most likely all the M8 bodies will be in a landfill someplace. A skilled machinist can always make a gear or temper a spring. Replicating an electronic circuit, not as likely. Those few that are left will be painted white with exotic snakeskin coverings and only fondled on the third Thursday of the month.

Does the way it takes pictures matter?

anyways, mine is silver, and if I get the 8.2, it may be either black or silver - depends how I feel on the day!
