Black or silver what do u prefer???

Just wondering what LEICA M6 finish people like more CHROME or BLACK .<snip>
What do u prefer?

This question can be asked of almost any camera so...

I don't care what finish a camera has as long as it works.

I think I prefer black/black. This is ONLY for the less noticeable nature of black cameras with black lenses. MY RF645, with an opaque filter and its hood on, is like some stealth camera that you might see riding around in a black suburban with guys in black coats and black glasses.

I am thinking of buying a Hexar AF in black because what's the point of stealthiness if the camera itself is shining chrome? 😀

part of RF style is stealthiness. WHo knows if chrome really is any more noticeable than black. Maybe they should make skin colored cameras. peach fuzz.

I only have old cameras. Silver predominates by 2 to 1.

Maybe a nice traditional brown leather if you don`t like black.

The silver ones just don't often get cosmetically-challenged enough from normal use to get graded "bargain" like the black ones do. My only requirements of my M6's were they had to be 100% mechanically reliable, and cheap. Each cost me under $900 last year.

On a shelf in a cabinet in my bedroom there are two of each, black and chrome.

On the same shelf there are 5 black and 5 chrome lenses.

50-50

However, my sense of fashion is disturbed when I have to put the chrome lenses on the black body. I feel like the lady wearing white after Labor Day and Kathleen Turner will smite me dead. 😀

As Bill Murray said in that legendary Canadian movie "Meatballs", "It just doesn't matter." 😀

hey, it's endless topic as I see !!! Still, more people prefer chrome ones! However, I will still keep my BLACK M6 just because it's my first Leica and it has some kind of "meaning" for me! I am going to start saving my money for an old silver Leica. M3 is my future aim.... 🙂)
