We lost power and had to go out to get a generator from a friend at 11pm, the middle of it. He lives down a long, winding dirt road and it took all my little worked over jeep had to get up there, short of the winch. Branches and brush were squashed flat by the weight of the snow across the road, which had to be shouldered out of the way and seeing the road, much less staying on it was a bit of a chore.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to get the s100 out of its home in my coat pocket.

It doesn't seem the disaster we expected, big drifts, high winds but it is, after all, February.

My wife is due into Hartford late tonight, her flight still shows as on (unlike most before it) and I have a LOT of snow to move.

We have friends in Cornith, NY. They drove down Thursday to avoid driving in the weather. Unfortunately this is probably the first time we have gotten more snow here than they get at home, so they just can't avoid it.

CT and MA seem to have borne the brunt of this one. Our hit in NJ was minimal by comparison.

From around 4pm yesterday. We must have had about 4-5 inches then. It seems to have topped out at about a foot.

About a foot of snow here north of Toronto. Yesterday after I (barely) got home from work, I did a quick and dirty snow blowing of the driveway. Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive and 4 snow tires. This morning we have a beautiful sunny day with perfectly blue sky, and I did a proper job of snow blowing the drive.

Wow, that looks crazy...I wish I was back in the states on the east coast (only for a couple of days), the weather here in Bangkok is so different......

cheers, michael

Vince, that was a nice surprise. I can't wait for winter to end... though the snow in NYC was only about 1 foot and today was sunny and nice out.
