Blue C3

Thanks Gene- Missed the link.

Totally got the "Toothless" image.

I have an old C44 that I enjoy and have some Vintage car shots I've grabbed with it. The lens does well with color, and I actually dig the challenge of limited shutter speeds.

Maybe there are others who will stand up and be counted?

I'll stand up and be counted, gents. I have my late grandfather's c-3 and the bag he used. I don't use the camera very much: Firstly because when I open the bag the smell reminds me of him and I don't want to lose that association either by becoming inured to the scent or by it's dissapation. Secondly I don't want to lose any of the "kit".
I have been keeping an eye out for the last couple of garage/yard sale seasons but no luck yet. I did get a seemingly nice c-4(or 44? it's not in front of me but not the interchangeable lens model) but some one took the lens off and I've not got it back together correctly after several attempts. 🙁
Grand dad got some very cool slides with that camera--he was in the Army Corp of Engineers and worked in some amazing places; the Al-Can highway, Iceland, and Greenland. The Kodachromes have held up well but the others(not sure what film they are) haven't. My uncle has all of those or I would share some of them.
All the "ergonomics" of their namesake brick but I do have a fondness for 'em.

I had one for awhile and used it enough to realize that it is a much better camera than it's reputation. The only thing I really disliked was the getting a finger in the way of the cocking lever. Otherwise, keep within in the Cintar's limits and you can do very respectable work.

Just because it was cheap didn't mean it would keep selling if it didn't work...

Coolest damn C3 I've seen Gene... I had a Matchmatic for a while, but gave it to my little sis because she showed interest in old cameras... It doesn't get much use now, so I might have to borrow it back. Maybe if it was BLUE it might see a few more rolls through it!

Thanks for posting!

Doesn't say which part is blue. The C-3 lens had a bluish tint to it, but somehow I assume he means the body, which would be a little different. Somebody's idea of customizing??

I'm old enough to remember when the C-3 (a.k.a. "the brick") was everyman's 35mm camera, and I knew several people who had them. Let's face it, it WAS a better-looking camera than the contemporary Kodak 35.

I have one that I happened to run into in, of all places, an antique store up here in Arroyo Grande a couple of years ago. They wanted $20 for it -- sold!!

In those days they were primarily used for slide film. Not exactly a Leica or Canon, but they must have had something going for them. They sold at the time for about $70, which in the '50's wasn't exactly cheap, either. And considering the numbers of them that must have been sold, they at least had a reputation for doing the job.
