Book 2 & Lulu - still investigating

just to let everyone know, I've been working on fixing the printing issue for the several days

I've determined that the file that Lulu is using is perfectly fine.. the issue is definitely caused by their printing procedure.. I have informed them that we are all dissatisfied with the print quality, and told them they need to fix it and send out replacement copies to those who have placed orders so far

they have assigned a 'job ticket' to investigate it, and say they will get back to us within a few days

I'll keep everyone informed as more information comes in

Thanks for your on-going efforts in this.

It really discouraged me to have to post this about this issue. I guess I was the first person to receive the book. A beautifully produced book that was essentially destroyed in the printing. Your efforts were exceptional and much appreciated... still are.

What a fine edition it will be with the printing straightened out.

So whatever was the outcome with Lulu about this 2nd book? Was it ever resolved? Any chance of it ever being resolved, or is this as good as it gets with Lulu?

I was going to buy this 2nd book since I have enjoyed the 1st one, but when these printing issues arose I held off. I just now remembered I never did order this 2nd book....

They never get back within a few days. Everytime someone says they will get back to you in a few days, they will never do it.
My housing agent never called me back. The bank never called back, regarding the CC. My former girlfriend also never got back to me. None of them!

Lulu never got back to me.. after looking over their printing forums for a while, I determined other people had similar issues and were never resolved.. if you are dissatisfied with the print quality of your particular book, they will redo it for you.. but they won't bother to address it on a global level

I purchased a copy a few weeks ago, and while the printing was done improperly (and one of my photos was affected), it wasn't such a grevous error that anyone outside of our group would likely notice, or at least be bothered by

so, the final word is that it's not going to be 'fixed'.. but if you really hate the copy that you get, you can either demand a reprint or your money back

I bought a second copy for a friend a month or so ago and it looked great, no color tint to be found.
