I took the day off today to go to Boston, but I am not going. Just not up to 40 degree F temps, 30 mph winds and rain. Other than being a runner or duck, I don't think it is a good day to be walking around outdoors in Boston today. I would love to be there, and do want to see all the photos I am missing the opportunity to take, but I just am not waterproof.

I'm sitting in Jamaica Plain (2 miles south of Fenway park/Kenmore Sq. which is one of the best places to watch the race) and there is no way I'm going out there. I honestly don't know how the runners will do it! One of the few things about the Boston race that makes it easier is the huge presence along the route. People cheering etc. Between running in the wind and rain, and what will probably be a slim fan turnout, it's going to be a long run for those poor people. Good for them but not for me.

I know 2 people running today. Im tracking them on the internet.
A great event, I will plan to go to New York in the fall and take another shot at Boston next April. I don't run any more, but do appreciate those who do.

I used to run a lot way back when. Most I did was 10 miles. Always thought I could do a marathon if I trained enough, but laziness got the better of me....

What's going on guys? Raining in Boston and snow last week in New York. Hope the weather improves for when I get to those places in four weeks time.

We've had really odd weather. January was really warm - some days broke 60 deg F (about 16 deg C). And now this!

Last year my oldest kid ran Boston for charity and finished in a very creditable time. Today I am at work in Quincy 🙁 but I also have a herniated disk so my running days might be over. I've run in two NYC marathons and loved them both, the people who root for you along the course are just awesome! It's an incredible experience that I would love to repeat but I'm very leery about back surgery. I could end up a complete crock & I don't want that.
