Massachusetts Boston meeting Jan. 2012?

I miss Boston, but not in January... went to school there and lived in 'Meh-fah' ... 02155.

Jan. 15 or Jan. 29?

Jan. 15 or Jan. 29?

So when is this meeting? Has it been decided that it will be on January 15. One person, Harry suggested that date and several people said they cannot make that date--I'm one of them. I suggested January 29 and no one acknowledged that as an option or even a bad option. I didn't see any comments from people saying they can make Jan. 15, but not Jan. 29.

So, can we take a vote, set up a survey thing? Or maybe Harry, since you started the thread, he can be the recipient of private emails in which those who are interested in attending send you messages saying which one or both dates that are good for them? You add them up for each date and you decide which date.

I'd hate to miss the gathering just because only one date was considered, when it could have easily been on another date. This seems to be the case with a few people here. I'd especially would be disappointed to miss it if most or all who can make Jan. 15 can also make it on Jan. 29.

Russell,

Thanks for the input. We have 9 people who've said that they would come or would try to come on the 15th. One said that he could also make it on the 29th. Nevertheless, you have a valid point.

I did invite folks to email or pm me, message #19; so far only 2 responses.

While I think we should keep the venue, the date is still flexible. I will, however, need at least a few days, preferably one week to arrange for the meeting with the Beacon Tavern.

So, let's set up a vote. Three choices: 15th; 29th; either.

Since the email/pm route hasn't been as productive as I had hoped, let's make it a public ballot. Respond to this message with your choice of dates. But please be timely in your response; the runway is getting short.

Harry

(Like film, the semicolon is not dead. :p)

As I mentioned before, I can make it on the 15th but cannot make the 29th, but if the majority prefers the second date then you should do it!

I will be in Boston during the first week of January. It would ne great to meet with any of the Boston RFF members for some coffee.

Raid, how long will you be here and where will you be staying? I am not free in the evenings but I am usually free during the day and could meet for lunch or coffee, depending on the day.

I just sent you a pm.
I would love to get together for some coffee.

You could have made your visit an event. What days will you be up north?

I will be in Boston Jan 4-8 for a conference, but I will have time for a meeting.
I can pm my hotel information. I will not have access to a rental car, but I know the subway system.
