Shooter of Film...
My son who is a Junior in High School this year will be spending 7 weeks in a Summer Program at MIT...
He will be leaving this Sunday, June 17th and returning August 4th...
What will the Weather be like and what should he pack...clothes wise that is??
He is also a big Yankee fan but I do believe he'll be leaving his Yankee cap at home...
Also any "Ideas" on what to see while there...
Thanks,

End of June and July, the weather could be anything. It should be a warm, Mediterranean climate for his stay but the weather has been really quite volatile here this year. Best to bring thin clothing that can be layered so that he can prepare for a variable day and maybe a Goretex jacket in case it rains. Lat week we had torrential rain/thunderstorms on Monday, clearing on Tuesday, beautiful weather Wed & Thur (my daughter's college graduation so the sun shone for her
), freezing on Friday. Best to look up the long-term weather forecast on weather.com.
What to see? I'm a museum kinda guy so I would suggest things like the MFA to begin but I'm sure he has his own interests so he should use the internet:
http://www.searchboston.com/happenings.html and
http://tinyurl.com/2kczq4 to begin.

As a Yankees fan myself..... Yes, do suggest he take in a Red Sox game. Fenway park is a unique place and Sox fans are as passionate as they come.
There are a ton of things to do and see in the city, and if he will have transportation being out east he can take in some unique New England places like Cape Cod and the coast of Maine.

Thanks Guys...
I know that they're planning some excursions and Fenway might be on the list. Even if he doesn't like the Red Sox he should at least watch a game there.
Interest for now include Music (plays Trumpet), cars, anything Aviation related.
Museums...maybe Science or History...
A schoolmate from home is attending MIT and will be there too...no car so Public Transportation for them...
Peter,
Great website...Fourth of July in Boston...WOW!!! That would be a sight to see...

Use mass transit

I drove in and around New York City for 15 years,
but the worst traffic jam I have ever experienced
was when I made the mistake of driving past
Fenway just as the game was letting out...
