I have read multiple threads around the web, some stating yes some no.

Anyone here use their J12 on their Canon 7? I don't really want to have to buy another 35mm lens but would like to start looking if I am going to have to.

Thanks to any users with practical experience with this combo!

BTW: I bought my 7 from KEH in EX condition (which in my experience is practically new the way KEH rates) for $215, seemed like a good price; opinions?

I use a J12 on my Canon 7 and 7s.

The lens has a very large rear element. I have heard that some examples do not clear the light baffles in the 7.

I opened the back door and set the shutter on "T" to check the clearance the first time I put it on my camera.

In my experiance, the oldest J12's are the ones with a problem. I had a later black one that worked fine on my Canon 7. There have been others that have had older silver ones (pre 1959) that had a shroud on the rear element that was too big to fit.

I paid KEH $199 for a BGN Canon 7 several years ago. I'd call yours a good price... :bang: Wish I hadn't sold it but that's life.

Thanks to all for the replys, I am trading a J9 in Kiev mount and J12 in LTM plus cash for a Leitz Summaron to use on my Canon 7 instead, not that it wouldnt fit but I like Leitz lenses and now have a 3.5cm Summaron, 5cm Summarit, and 9cm Elmar...a decent LTM kit for my 7 IMHO
