i can't seem to remember the name of the photog who shot that famous times square photo, after the war, sailor and nurse kissing...

please help an an old man!

Joe: It you just copy the phrase "famous times square photo, after the war, sailor and nurse kissing" and paste it into Google, you can find a ton of references to Eisenstaedt, the circumstances, and all the people who claimed to be the subject in the photo.

In college I had three classes in photo history and photo criticism, having to study many famous photographs just builds ones memory.

This famous shot is restaged every year in Times Square by the local business association on VE Day. There are lips permanently imprinted in the concrete now where the famous "Kiss" photo was taken. Here's my montage of the scene from a few years ago.

If don't have a brain fart myself, I think the young lady in that photo was recently re-discovered and interviewed. I recall seeing the story on Yahoo! News.

it wasn't so much your memory that impressed me but that at your age you knew some history of our hobby.

bob, i did that right after i asked the question...sometimes i forget that google exists...

I use google all the time, although sometimes picking the correct "key words" is hit or miss for finding what you want without getting too much stuff you don't want. Likewise, if you're writing stuff to post on line then picking the right key words can make your stuff mor "google friendly" and easier for google to find.
