I know this is not a philosophical post, but I found learining about the work of others very intellectual...

To those who can get it:

"...May is “Photography Month” on Bravo!. Each Sunday beginning May 4 at 6 p.m. ET, Bravo! puts the focus on photographers and their subjects. Territories (May 4) profiles Canadian Larry Towell. On May 11, Bravo! presents The Many Faces of Arnaud Maggs. Alan B. Stone's pioneering efforts to photograph the male physique are revealed in Eye on the Guy (May 18). The Art of Observation: The Photographs of Ted Grant airs on May 25. The series Behind the Camera has its world television premiere on May 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT. The True Meaning of Pictures (May 14 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT) examines the work of American photographer Shelby Lee Adams. Magnum photographer Abbas takes snapshots of the cultural, social and political life in Iran in the documentary Abbas in Iran (May 14 at 10:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. PT)...."

Ted Grant, recently awarded to Dr. h.c., is a very well known and appreciated member (or better said alpha animal) of the LUG Leica User Group. His posts are as remarkable as his pictures. He is the protagonist of the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep it simple, stupid).

I'm not certain this is the same Bravo cable channel that runs on US cable systems, and whose programming (when I tune across it) runs more towards reality shows, or food shows, or reality food shows. Bravo! (mit exclamation point!) is, I think, a separate Canadian operation. I tried looking up the May schedule on the comprehensively useless bravotv.com Web site, and gave up in frustration.

That said, I have the Ted Grant program on DVD, and it's well worth searching out.

Thanks for posting. I am especially looking forward to the Abbas program. And now, thanks to the replies, I will look into the Ted Grant one, as well, which I otherwise might have overlooked.
