Brian Sweeney is Clapton...

And Clapton is ...

But seriously, has anyone else felt that listening to Brian Sweeney talk - around here or at NFF - about optics is rather like listening to a good recording of, say, one of the Brandenburg Concertos? Near as to perfect as it gets? It's scary how much I've learned from off the cuff comments by him (and other gifts).

SO, an appreciation & thank you thread to one of RFF's most vital members.

Thank you, Brian.

William

I agree, he passes on extremely interesting information on lenses not many of us have. Thanks and kudos, Brian.

Interesting that you wrote "listening to Brian Sweeney talk":) Even though all the comments here are the "written word", I guess the style is indeed just like chatting.

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments about Brian. His input here is extremely valuable, and I too have learnt lots listening to Brian talk ;)

I'm not ready to write Brian's obituary, but he's a helluva nice guy and his super -tech stuff is a lot of help to all of us.

Since he made a CZJ Tessar segue into an LTM mount, I was thinking he was more like Jerry Garcia.

Ben & Jerry's ought to name an ice cream after him!

I'll lift one.....

to Brian for helping me! But then again, I'll probably lift one anyway. I'll just make sure to toast him specially with one of the many.

but unlike Eric, Brian is not an M8 owner yet.

Brian Sweeney is my favorite "BS"!
This is a knowledgeable man who shares with all of us his optical experiments.
I am fortunate that Brian has shared with me several optics.

The only "bad thing" about Brian is that his threads can make me wish that I had his skills with lenses!

Thanks.

maybe Brian has the missing 1960 Les Paul sunburst guitar that Eric used on the Beano LP.
