Rare? Like hen's teeth.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the soft-focus look.

It looks like it has its hood and cap but not the centre spot filters. Guess this will keep the price down to a meagre £2-£3k?

I think Roger Hicks either has owned or still has one. He could fill you in on why it's special. Not 'soft focus' in the same sense as most people think and I'm not sure it's ever been copied in a SLR compatible lens.Never came across this before, l take it to be very rare then, what will it go for l wonder

Not on my site but there's an old Shutterbug piece here.Roger has an article about it on his website.
The old friend who lent it to me, and from whom I eventually bought it, is dying. I'm hoping to see him on Monday (he's in hospital 200 miles way). His 68th birthday would be in December. It will be the last time I see him...

As it says in the article, I wasn't until I tried it.. . . Personally, I'm not a fan of the soft-focus look. . . .
When he goes, I'll probably be responsible for getting rid of his 73/1.9 Hektor, too. I just hope I don't buy it...
Cheers,
R.
