Bright photos and adjacent frames

I notice sometime that when a shot with a bright sun in the corner was taken, the brightness will bleed and partially exposure the adjustment frame. Is this a fact of life or something can be done to the camera to minimise the effect?

Currently, I made a conscious effort to fire a blank shot before or after a "sun" shot depending on which corner the sun will be located ... but I'm a rather forgetful man 🙁

M7 and MP with all sort of lens. I had a look at the film guide and found that there is none for the vertical plane, i.e. there's a gap. This seems logical to me since if there is, the negative would get scratched... Nonetheless (and I'm guessing here), under intense situations, it is possible that light would leak through the gap...

Strange. I've never gotten anything like that with any of my cameras and I find it hard to fathom both of yours having the same problem. Perhaps someone who knows them better will speak up.

I've seen some light bleed under very extreme situations with a Leica M, the bleed has never crossed frames but has spilled slightly into the space between frames. I've also only seen it with TMAX 400 film, maybe coincidence. Certainly I don't think there is a light leak.

My most logical answer to this now is that Australia has unusually bright sun 🙂
