Hi there and good evening.

I received my first film camera yesterday and have shot two rolls of film already.

Since it did not come with a battery I was unsure as to if the meter would work (as was the seller on ebay) Considering the camera is in such good nic I assumed it would work.

I have discovered that it does infact not work.
Once on 'A' I was unable to fire off any shots regardless of light settings.

Having opened the bottom up I have noticed that the meter needle remains to the right however is freely moving.

Tweaking the galvanometer hasn't made any difference (apart from allowing the camera to fire but it is at a fixed aperture.

Although I fully intended to shoot manually It would be nice to have this working.
I've been looking through the net for solutions:
Change the cdc.. etc
Infact thats the only solution I have come across so far.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have also noticed verticle alignment is off by the tiniest of amounts. I will try and sort this but I don't know how to get access to the top.

Thank you in advance

HI there.
Managed to get the top off.
I have notice that the cable connecting to the sync port is disconnect.
Something to fix another time I think.
Adjusted vertical alignment, knackered the ss needle when handling it but just fixed it.
First time looking in a camera.
Love it :)

Sync socket already disconnected, sounds like seller had the camera open, and is freshly tampered. Meter not moving, could be battery corrosion on bottom of battery box and in battery wire. With a loupe, look for a little bit of green on the screw head in the battery box. Possibly switch that turns meter on in back of shutter plate is dirty. Test meter coil with ohm meter to see if coil is good. John, www.zuiko.com

Hi there.
Thanks for the reply.
There doesn't appear to be any corrosion on the battery contacts.

I'm unsure as to how to test the loop.

If I can find a suitable place in the Uk I may post it away to get a look over.

Cheers

Michael
