Bronica RF645 100mm lens

maybe, Keith is right;
maybe there are other causes and prices will fall and raise again periodical;
take a look on the Leitz Summilux 1,4/35 preasph. Two or three years ago you got a newish one fully packaged for about €750.-. Then they were sold private (not only ebay) for €1150. Today you find this lens with original package and hood for about €1000.-.
Seems to be similar to the RF 4,5/100

Makes me wonder what the 135mm would sell for today. I have only seen one for sale, and that was on the web, about four years ago, being offered by a photo shop in England. I doubt that anyone who has one would break up their kit to sell it.

I read a review that the lens was not made in volume because the rangefinder base could not accurately focus it wide open very well.

Yes, that's true, but they could be calibrated to the bodies and Tamron really missed the Mark when they chose not to provide this service. I understand that some camera shops, especially White's, did provide this to service their customers.

I bought a complete outfit from another RFFer, and was "Very Lucky" to find a 100mm for $450 at B&H about a year ago. I sold the lot this spring, for a little more money. But I missed it so much that I bought a whole set again, from another RFFer recently. I have since seen several units on EBay, and a 100mm sat there at $800 for a long time.
I love mine, and have no intention of making the same mistake twice. I am not bothered about the current value. It is a wonderful system, indeed.

I also was able to purchase mine used, from KEH, for about $400. That was about 3-4 years ago, before the price surge. I love the kit and will hold on to it as well.

Well, I just sold my 100mm lens for $700 because prices on Evay dropped precipitously this last month, perhaps thanks to the economic crisis. I was a motivated seller, however, because I picked up the lens with an entire kit and needed to sell the lens to finance the rest of the outfit, as I couldn't afford to drop an even grand at the moment. Maybe I'll regret it, but I should wide anyway, and this way at least I have the camera and 65mm lens and flash, which otherwise I simply couldn't afford.
