Bronica RF645 up for sale on ebay

Hello to all,

Just wanted to mention for anyone that may be interested, I have put a Bronica RF645 with 65mm lens and couple extras up for sale on ebay.

This beautiful camera I've owned for 10 years and is in excellent condition, used only a hand full of times... unfortunately.

I'll be interested to see what you get for this ... a year or two ago RF645's were a very desirable camera on this forum and a few sold in the classifieds quite quickly. Lately they seem to have come down in price a little. Seems a shame to sell it ... I love mine! :)
 
I've been holding off on selling it for the last couple years. I truly hate to see it go... unfortunately sometimes the only way to fund projects is to sell gear.
 
I'm shocked to see I have not used my RF645 for three years, while still considering it a favorite. I've just been getting familiar with more recent gear acquisitions, huh.... and will soon return to the true way with the Bronica. (I was considering it for a recent trip to Hawaii, but chose to get intimate with an unused Pentax digital instead) It really is a sweet system, my main gripe being the lack of 45mm framelines in the viewfinder.

I can't go look at the actual auction right now (at work, where eBay is blocked) but is the car included as shown in the "Everything" photo? :p

I am sorry to admit that I just sold mine on eBay too. Same reason as Doug -- just wasn't using it. I thought it would work for the kind of street photography I like to do, but it really didn't. Too slow and cumbersome, and way too noticeable. So I'm sticking with my ZI for that. I finally decided that for the times I wanted medium format quality, I could get the same (if not better) with a classic MF camera. So I bought a Rolleiflex 3.5F from a RFF member, and I love it. So reluctantly, a fond farewell to the RF645. (And I had all three lenses too!)
 
If I've offended anyone by posting information about my auction I apologize... was not my intention to do so. But because this is a free and open forum for like minded people i.e. photographers and camera enthusiasts alike, I naturally figured someone on this forum may be interested. I don't believe anyone involved in this forum is "a bunch of rich losers" or "snobs" nor do I believe my original posting was miss guided.

It is frowned upon when someone promotes an ebay auction as their very first post, which indicates that the person likely joined just to spam the forum.

If you're someone who'll stick around and keep participating after your camera sells, we'd love to have you.

The references to snobs and such is an inside joke here, it wasn't aimed it you. Here's what it was abut: A couple weeks ago someone here started a thread to give away some stuff he didnt want anymore, and several other forum member joined in the generosity by offering things as well. This prompted people from other forums to join just to ask for the things, which were intended for members in good standing only. When told this, some of the newcomers went back to the places they normally hang out and denounced RFF members as snobs and rich losers. While some people here are wealthy and some are probably snobs (actually I know some that are!), many of us are artists who do photography for the love of the art, and who make very little money.

So, anyway, sorry we were mean to you...people here like to joke around and needle each other, and it isn't taken seriously unless someone says something truly awful (eg, racism, extreme insults, etc.).

What bums me out is that I sold a Zenzinon 100mm lens recently for $700 to a fellow forum member, as a way of subsidizing the camera and 65mm lens and flash, which I otherwise could never afford. I had hoped the one lens would cover my costs, but it didn't because this was during the financial meltdown. Now, that same lens just sold on Evay for $1100! But at least we two forum members are using and enjoying the Bronica equipment, and we both got good deals in the end.

I appreciate your concern and understand where your coming from. My intention was not to spam the box so to speak, but be part of this intriguing and informative collective... My apologies to you, Pherdinand and anyone else that found my post self serving. No hard feelings.

Christopher, thanks for explaining and letting me in on the inside joke... sounds like a mess. and believe me I know exactly what mean about being an artist and making rent. In any case it's good to be among friends and hope to contribute to this forum in the coming months.

...... and I bought this 100/4,5 here in the forum but time to use it was restricted. So I hope for heavy use in future
 
Well, the way I understand this - as follows. This web site is offered FREE for all who wants to become a member here. Offered by Cameraquest. It has it's costs to run/maintain this site. The only way that CQ gets any support for that is from classifieds with super low fees or from Paid advertising. So, it's just respectful to CQ to offer camera sale in our classifieds first and than if it didnt sell - take it to ebay. To get a free exposure here, while ebay rakes all the money from the sale - just in poor taste, IMO.
So, PMCC, "dude" didnt just walk in a door offering a camera - if he did - it'd be in classifieds here. It's more like - I'll sit in this bar, causeI like the crowd, but I'll buy my beer at the pub next door....Not sure how things work in Brooklyn.

If this is what you think of this place - why are you here, may I ask?

And if a new person becomes a member here, they typically dont start with "Wanna buy my cam on ebay? " post. They look around, read, learn the ropes. See how things are done. I dont think it's too much to ask.

Its funny you mention courtesy - as it would be courteous to offer camera here, to members at a good price first, before putting it on ebay. Why? Cause we are a community here and do these things for each other - just look at some threads - lots of things are given away, many things are offered at good price. THAT is courteous. But if it's done for a pure monetary gain - well, nothing wrong with it - thats what ebay is for anyway. Which it looks like OP actually tried to take care of - with free shipping offer, etc. So, cudos on that!
 
Well, if you choose to ignore a part of my post and interpret other select part to your liking - well, so be it. I know what I said and what I meant by it. If you cant or dont want to see it - not my problem. Yet I still dont understand why you bother with this forum if you say "I only see self-styled moral arbiters and barstool schoolmasters". Commerce is not the only thing that's voluntary , you know.
