Great photo. Interesting story

Bruce Davidson searches for the subject of one of photos fifty years later.

"If she is still alive, I'd love to know what she is doing now, what her story is," he says. "I never even wrote down her first name. I know it's 50 odd years ago, but someone out there must know who she is, surely."

It says in the article that she was going to a concert and he thinks it was on an island.
The only one that I can think of was the Isle of Wight concerts but I think that they started in the late sixties.
The first I went to was in 1969...Bob Dylan headlined.

Reminds me of Costa Manos's photo of Girl Watching a Dance taken in the '60s, of a beautiful 16 year old in full folk dress in a Greek village. He never spoke to her. Forty years later Costa was the subject of a career retrospective at the national museum in Athens, and the photo was used as the promotional poster. The exhibition organizers searched for and found the girl, still in her native village, and reunited her with Costa. She was now a grandmother, and Costa told me that time had not treated her well.

I'm also reminded of Steve McCurry's successful search for the Afghan Girl with Green Eyes from the National Geographic. Another story of how harsh peasant life can take a physical toll on the beauty of women.
