He's a well known modern street photographer in NYC known for an in-your-face ambush approach utilizing a separate hand-held flash and hyper-focal techniques. I saw him in action once. He weaves throughout the crowded streets like a stealth fighter, flashes a pic inches from the subjects face and disappears before anyone has a chance to object. I was going to speak with him about his camera but he literally disappeared before my very eyes. I saw him several times in an afternoon. I think he wears the One Ring.
Thank you.
I am a seriously rank amateur new to photography so I basically know nothing about cameras and even less about photographers. I was not trying to stir the pot I was just interested in seeing what folks had to say about who he is that is all.
Again thanks to everyone who filled in the blanks for me...now I'll go google him and research him a bit more sounds interesting and his camera is definately cool.

'cause it's a black chrome (as opposed to black paint) MP?I wonder why the area surrounding his shutter button is not chrome like on normal MP's?

It's difficult to see, but he seems to have an angled rewind crank.
So his MP could be an a-la-carte.
If you play with the configurator and choose for black chrome, you see that the area surrounding the shutter button is black as well.
If you choose for black paint, it is silver metal.

It is quite academic. Still interesting though, I found easy to read. There's a preview in google books I think, you can read a bit there if interested

Use mine too, no way is it really big - a nicely designed hood I've always thought.Oh, come on, it's not that big. I always use mine.
I'm more concerned with the state the lens is in, does he not clean his gear after use? Seems not.

The latest issue of "Black+White Photography" to hit the US shores has an article/interview (more of an article on interviewing him that an interview) written by the magazine's editor. For anyone interested in him, I'd say it's worth trying to dig up a copy. It was an interesting read.
