Bruce Mortimer from Geology to Photograhpy

I have a need to share with you my re-discovery of an ex South African Landscape artist; Bruce Mortimer. Browsing through his book: Africa by Inspirtation, A Journey through Southern Africa. ISBN 10909688-68-4) I was again reminded of the beauty of South Africa and what joy it is to have "me time" to quietly page through your favourite photo books.

The monochrome photos in the book are mostly in panoramic format and I assume it was shot with an Xpan. (He holds a II in a photo on the dust cover.)

As a South African I am saddened by Bruce's emigration form South Africa to New Zeeland. Have a look at his work; brucemortimer.co.nz and be inspired.

For 2010, I wish everybody to be there and ready when the situation demands that a photograph be taken.

I think it's a I. The II does not have a dial on the camera face.

I am geologist too...Though I do both together unlike him 🙂 Who know maybe some day I will only do my father's job, photography...
