Hi

I have bought an early M3 with Buddah ears.
It is quite clean and I would like to protect it with an ever ready case or half case.

Do you know if the lugs are situated exactly at the same place as the M2-MP ?

Do the shape of the lug prevent from using Leica eveready case or / Luigi / Zhou eveready case.

Thanks!🙂

Michael, the buddah ears are located in a slightly different place than are the lugs on later model Leica M cameras. So if a case has openings aligned for the later model Leica M camera lug positions then that case won't align with the buddah ears of an early Leica M3. Fortunately, Luigi sells half cases that do have openings aligned specifically for the buddah eared M3. That's what I have on my buddah eared M3 and the fit is very good (not surprising given the quality of Luigi's work). Likewise, if you ever want to recover a buddah eared M3 with a covering from Aki-Asahi, he sells replacement covers with properly located cut-outs for the buddah eared M3. I can't speak for the Zhou half case. Hope this helps.

I believe the Luigi case is the only one now that will fit the Buddha Eared M3
Luigi will make a case to fit your camera, but you must specify what you want or you will get the standard case.
He now makes either a Basic Case or the Original Case (basic is machine sewn good leather, the other is Hand Sewn, Premium Leather) and you can get it with or without a built in grip.
I have a basic case w/built in grip for the same camera as you on order and had a Premium case for my Zeiss Ikon w/built in grip Made a few months ago.
Beautiful Case and Luigi is a Pleasure to deal with.

Yep, mine's the handsewn Original Case with built in grip. I really, really like it. Luigi's cases take camera fondling to a whole other level.

"Another Randy"... I like that. And we live about 10 miles away from each other, too.
