Unfortunately it is a long time ago that I was in Vienna. I remember those museums almost extinct, but I am afraid they are now first rate tourist attractions just like all the other world famous museums.

thank's and you are right Erik. It's good though that the old museums had been made more attractive again also the creation of the Mumoq for housing modern art.

This shot says a lot. A really cool home, in a really cool location. But look at the razor wire? What are they trying to keep out? Haves and have nots. This is Guatemala. There is significant crime there. A lot of Latin America, South Africa, and other places live this way. This could be the USA in 20-50 years if we are not careful. Some say open US borders will drive us there, others that it could solve this problem.

I like the Hall Grocery. A classic small town building and with a nice look to the image. Can you share any technical info?

Taken on a bike ride around my neighborhood yesterday.





This is with some more old film I found around the house - Fuji NPZ 800 given to me several years ago by a friend getting out of film. Developed in Dignan split bath C41 since I happened to have the necessary stuff to mix it.

Leica M4-2 with 50 Summicron.

Thank you. Taken with a Panasonic DMC TS5 point and shoot, ISO 100, 1/640 sec at f/3.3 or so says Adobe Lightroom. One of Panasonic's "tough" cameras, waterproof, shockproof, etc. Nice little take-anywhere camera, said to have a Leica lens, whatever that means.

Hall, Indiana, is in Morgan County. It was the boyhood home of the long-time UCLA basketball coach, John Wooden, the Wizard of Westwood. Despite living in southern Indiana near Bloomington, Wooden went north to Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he was a standout All-American guard three years running.

More than you wanted to know, I'm sure!

EDIT: Coincidentallly, I did my graduate work at all three institutions—UCLA, Purdue, and Indiana.

This is an absolutely remarkable shot! I can see that "character" means many things to many people. Each building in the whole thread has character, each in its own way.

Thanks for the information. I'd actually unsuccessfully tried to figure out where it was.

Interesting about the camera. This just stood out to me as much more natural looking than 99 percent of what I see. Of course, that is not necessarily peoples' goal with photos. I'm posting all kinds of funky stuff myself lately using up really old film that I have around the house.

Looking through my old digital photo stream this winter I realized that the most pictures came from my old Panasonic LX3, and that my best color came from my old Sony a100.
