I just got a Watson 66B bulk loader for a cheap price on eBay, and it turns out that there is film in it. I just loaded a foot or so into a tank, and I'm about to develop it, in the hope that there are some edge markings.

While it was in the changing bag, I took the lid off and measured the diameter of the roll of film - it's about 48-50mm (nearly 2 inches). Any suggestions on how much film this equates to? There was some space around the roll to get the fingers in a bit, so I'm guessing maybe half of a 100 foot roll.

And the mystery film is....

...Jessops Pan 100S

My initial searches indicate that this is actually Agfa APX100. Off to do some more searching...

The roll spool measures at 1" so I'm guessing not that much...3-4 rolls of 36 exposures...
Nice that you didn't just open it up and expose it all...

Just been crunching numbers, and I get a bit over 5 rolls. If it's 0.15mm thick, then, from 48mm to 25.4 is 76 layers. Totalling the circumferences of the layers, accounting for the reducing diameter of each, I get about 8.77m of film - 5.36 rolls assuming 1.64m per roll. If that's correct, then working outwards to get 30.5m takes another 108 layers, and gets to an outside diameter of about 80mm - does that sound right?

I'm glad it's APX100, assuming Rollei Retro 100 is also APX100 (because I rather like that). Yes, it was a good thing that I didn't open it up - I had noticed that there was some weight moving around inside, so just opened the loading door instead, and found the end of the film poking through. Not a bad deal for 99 pennies...

^^^^Okay...I thought I was a bit obsessive with numbers and things but you have taken it to a new level...
Find five empty cassettes and just roll them...

I do mechanical design, so numbers, particularly dimensions, are par for the course for me.

Don't have any. :) Planning an order to Maco Direct soon, so I'm thinking of getting 10 of the metal reusable ones (and maybe a bulk roll of Efke 25, since rolling that will actually save money).
