Bulk Film Loader VS Bulk Buy

I guess Jobo is still making reloadable plastic cassetes which cost about USD 2 in Argentina. Meanwhile I still keep old AGFA an Kodak cassettes from the 70¨s and 80´s which are still in good shape.

The dust and other debris in the felt seals can be removed with compressed air (from a compressed air can for electronics cleaning). I´ve tried post-it notes and cellophane tape for this, but some adhesive remains in the felt and that´s worst than I´ve ever expected.
So I reverted to compressed air.

Re. film price HP5 in 100 ft vs. HP5 36 exp. cassettes, I´ve found a price ratio of 0.9 (bulk) to 1.7 (roll), which for me is enough (but this applies for local prices, here in Buenos Aires).

Kully,

have you had any E-6 back from Dlab7 recently? My last two batches of slides have come back really dusty - takes ages to blow it all off before scanning. I'm prepared to persevere with them if I've just been unlucky twice in a row, because they're essentially very very good at processing and ridiculously cheap, but if this dust problem is ongoing then I may find somewhere else.

Cheers
Jamie

Jamie,

Got my two rolls of Provia 100F back last week - they were fine, just a few deposits of something on a couple of frames which came off with a rub of my glasses cloth.

Do you get prints at the same time? If so, having them put through another machine probably contributes to the knackeredness.
