This has always been a problem.

My solution is to go into microsoft Word amd make and entire page of labels.

One line , three across, tri x 36 exp Tri x 24 exp etc
Copy and paste to second line
Copy and past 1 and 2 together to make 3 and 4
ETC

Change film in middle of page if you want.
Adjust type size to make film can labels and casset labels.

Print on your document printer.
Cut and apply with tape over the label.

You will never play what`s in the can again.

There are also self-adhesive labels that you can buy in paper stores. Usually a bit bigger than we need but simple enough to cut down to an appropriate size.

I sometimes use a Dymo printer (self-adhesive plastic labels).

I use the simple cheep method, I got some small stickers and a pen as I roll I label, ie neopan 400 36exp or 15exp test,I always leave space to put pushing data. To be honest I had not thought of using a word doc. probably still wont I get me stickers for free😀 and im tight

I write on the film with a permanant marker - that's fast, looks very professional 😀 and I can use the cassette for another film type next time without messing around with labels.

I really like the coloured label idea, I'm going to switch to that system. The only time I won't use it is when I bulk roll XP-2. I'll use Ilford's labels, or print my own, as I don't want to give the lab slave any reason to question my sanity. My wife owns that job. 😉
