Bulk loading 35mm movie film

I see that Tom A. and a few others are shooting the XX Eastman Kodak movie film. Is anyone using c-41 movie films for their color work? It's getting harder and harder to find bulk c-41 film, I thought 400' at $200 bucks wasn't too bad. Works out to about $2.77 a roll.

Looking at the website, it looks like one can order "short ends" for .15 cents a foot! That is dirt cheap!

i could be wrong but i think the motion picture stuff has a thick remjet backing that will mess up C41 chemistry if not scrubbed off before processing.

I believe that's correct. Dale Laboratories in Florida develops it, I think. My boss handed me a sack of like 40 rolls of the stuff, haven't tried it yet.

It's apparently quite bad for the chemistry to run even one roll through a regular C-41 machine, so please don't try to trick your local minilab into it.
