bulk loading Ilford saves half?

Still my cartridges of choice. Have probably a couple dozen that still work well, when these run out, not sure what I'm gonna do.

Best,
-Tim

Cartridges from Efke (KB50/100) film are easily reusable. I just keep on reusing them many many times...

Kodak raised the price of their 100' bulk rolls (both of TX and TMAX) around mid 2014. They used to be < $70. :(

After that I switched promptly to Ilford HP5+ bulk. Even better.

If you are or you know a student in any art or photo art courses in high school or college, you can get the student discount from Kodak and get those 400' cans much cheaper. At one time back in school, I think I bought 2000' at discount. 5222 is now my favorite 35mm film and I have to restock soon. I hope I can get the discount with my current course load at the community college I'm attending.

Hey, Phil, 5222 is all I shoot in 35mm these days! Had no idea you liked it too!

I found 12 rolls today in my desk! But I need to stock up soon!!!

Yeah, I like it because it has a different color temperature sensitivity and I feel like it needs less or no filtration over other panchromatic films. It gives more contrast without using filters, which I prefer. I just don't like putting filters on my lenses unless I need the protection from dust in Iraq or something like that. But, that photography is already done so no more filters for me.
My last two rolls are reserved for Bethanne.

How many company's still make film. I mean have a factory to produce film, not just rebranding some other company's film? I can think of only 4;
Kodak
Ilford
Fuji film
Foma
Don't know about the Chinese.
Film Ferrania has made a batch of B&W but who knows if they will ever make any more. Seems like they are caught. They need money to make film but need to sell film to make money.

Arista Edu bulk rolls (=Fomapan) from freestyle are a great cheap alternative. The 200 flavor is a staple of mine.

Lucky from China has started producing film again, or so I've heard.

I've bulk-loaded Fomapan 100 and 5222 from 100' rolls. I get about 17 rolls from it with 36 frames.

Foma 200 is a beautiful film. I bulk load the Arista Edu version. Nice and cheap.

Rollei still makes film yes? Freestyle is expecting a new stock of Superpan in 35mm in a few weeks. Makes for a pretty inexpensive JCH-400-clone.

I think its Maco doing the film using Rollei brand?

Havent seen any Rollei film on 100ft roll. Do they make those?

Macodirect has fresh 70mm Rollei film also. So far I have received two rolls. A 120 size length of 70mm film works out to about $3.00.
So far I am shooting this film in my Hasselblads. I like it and the price is very reasonable.

I have loaded my own for literally decades, but the other day looking for a 100-foot roll on the Ultrafine site I discovered 20-36x rolls of their T-grain film for about what I usually pay for a big roll, so I bought it. They came in reusable cassettes! So now I've got a bunch of film AND a set of cassettes for the future! That brings the cost of the film down considerably.

I've used their 400 speed normal film, and it's fine. Don't have results from the T-film yet.

And yes, a bulk loader is a waste of money and frames. One stretch between my open arms is about 36 shots and leader, and I don't kill the last frame or two the way a bulk loader does.

I just noticed that 100 foot rolls of Kodak film is really really cheap right now on some selling sites. I'm curious as to why that is. 76-79 dollars right now.
