At the recent Toronto RFF gathering, I discussed the possibility of a group buy for bulk Tri-X (100ft) since I have access to the Kodak Store here in Rochester.
I just called them and the price is $41.00. I assume that's plus local NYS tax (8.25% I think; I never notice!), and it is a special order so I'd need to go in and pay for it first. Let's say $44.50.
It's not a great savings over Freestyle's price ($45.49, currently out of stock), but if anyone in Western/Central NY or GTA would like a roll, I'd be willing to coordinate a group buy. Here are some "rules":
1. Payment in advance since that is what Kodak is requiring of me.
2. I can deliver to GTA next time I am in the area. No extra cost, but we'd have to arrange a meet up that's convenient for me. I don't want to do cross-border shipping for this particular purchase.
3. Those in W/CNY could pick up from me here in Rochester.
4. If you do want it shipped (domestic US), you would have to include shipping costs for the carrier of your preference. It would have to be trackable, and I would prefer only one carrier so I don't have to go to multiple shipping outlets. USPS seems to x-ray everything, so I'd prefer not to use them. A fair number of folks seem to not look UPS, so maybe FedEx is the best choice.
5. I will be out of town the week of Oct. 2 with little or intermittent internet access, so there is some time to collect responses; if you don't see any posts by me during that time, that's the reason.
Feel free to PM or email me if you wish.
Finally, I would like to get any interest finalized the week of October 9.

Earl, you know that's only about 18 rolls. I went thru my 100' foot bulk roll of Tri-X a lot faster than i thought I would.....

Damn Earl, I must have been in the can when this was discussed. I just ordered 10 rolls from Camtech here in Hamilton....I know I'm going to pay a hell of a lot more than $2.50/roll.
However, still interested....are you going to spool it for everyone?

I think you were fondling your 90mm...
Yeah, I'll spool it for about a Loonie a roll!
Nah, it's spool your own.

Ben: Wow, that's a good price. With GST & shipping it's likely only slightly more than what I can do here.
I'm under no illusion that the Kodak store price is great shakes.
