I second this. Stitching a few images isn't hard.

Do you think condescension will really help remove ghosting due to movement?

Even the normal DP2M shots fall apart at 200%.
Did u ever do any big prints of those shots?
No big prints from them.. I can post 50 - 100 - 200 % crops for u or I can upload a raw file for u if u got someplace for me to upload, just me a pm.

My DPM shots don't fall apart when shot in good light. What are you referring to? A native resolution file, at 300% on a retina display, I'll begin to see pixelation. But stuff is solid, if pixelated, through 600%, imo.
Maybe I'm confused.

"Retina" displays are roughly 2x the resolution of a regular display, so 400% on a retina is equivalent to about 200% on a regular display. The macbook displays are I think 220 ppi. If you are viewing at 100%, it is equivalent to looking at a print printed at that resolution (however large that is).
If you just lean back and squint, it is never that bad.

What's the wide to die for? The 8-16mm f4.5-5.6 dc hsm? Or the 20mm 1.8 ?
8-16
I think the 20mm is a full frame lens? I really wish the lens makers would employ some easier names than DC, DG, DX, FX that even we men could remember.
1" lenses: T Wiggy
m4/3: B Yonce
APS-C: Slo Ren
Full frame: Kimkard Ashian
Medium format: Xpanded
Large format: Xpanded with a wide angle :bang:

It's very tempting as I prepare for a trip back to (over)consumer paradise (the USA)...

There seems to be a steady, but low supply trickling into the amazon.de warehouses. Quite impressed by the body and lens so far. Also available at slightly higher price at amazon.fr.

I saw that you mentioned that before. Thanks for the tip!

As I think about it, they may very well have had a dp4m ready for beta trials.. But there could have been parallel development in the Quattro and given they are pushing for a summer release to me, make me wonder if a last minute breakthrough, shelved the dp4m. We may still c that dp4 but now it will be a Quattro sensor.
I hope they do a dp type csc eventually. Given I have a sd1m, not sure right now if I would pick up a dp4q.

Frankly, I don't really care if it is Merrill or Quattro. Well, maybe I do, since I have no idea yet what the Quattro is like, and I do know and love the Merrill. But I'd just like to see a fixed lens perfectly mated to the sensor DP that goes wider than 28. And for my purposes, smaller is definitely better.

And here I am thinking better to wait for for sd2. U could end up w/ a Quattro ahead of me

As you know, Gary, it sounds like the SD2 with Quattro could be announced at Photokina and come to market before a new DP model comes out in 2015.
"Betting on a DSLR announcement at Photokina (September 16 to 21 in Cologne, Germany) is not a big risk, but we can always be surprised." - See more at: http://sigma-rumors.com/2014/03/sigma-cameras-lenses-rumors/#sthash.lIjx2bN6.ukHv9uoF.dpuf

I kind of think next cp+ myself.. Mainly because the Quattro seemed to gave been pushed out only just in tine for cp+ this year and was I think just barely beta if not alpha quality code from what I have heard.
I think what is interesting is that
- it does not sound like a zoom version of dp Quattro will ever happen
- they are looking into other camera types which may mean csc.
- they redesigned the camera to have a grip that would allow a stable and sharp shot even when held one handed.
I do believe u are right we may c something new in the foveon family by September, but not sure which new csc, dp4 or sd2. If they do a ff sd2, at the same photsite cell count as current Quattro or greater, it could be more of a cp+ timeframe. If it is exactly the same as current Quattro, September is could be the target.
Since u are based out of Europe, are u going to Cologne?

Forgot to mention, as we get closer to September, if it looks like there could be csc, I may go for that instead of a sd2.
